Bio

Diana Yoo is a passionate art advocate and works in photo-based installation and performance in her autobiographical art practice. Her art practice also has strong foundational roots in drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture which emerge through her aesthetic and compositions. She received her Master of Fine Arts from Western University and her Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours from York University. She is interested in questions regarding juxtaposed cultures; possibilities of in-between spaces; and dream-making about pluralistic cultures. Yoo's work has been exhibited throughout Ontario as well as internationally at venues such as: JOUEZ at the BIG on Bloor Festival for Arts and Culture! (Toronto), Koffler Gallery (Toronto), John B. Aird Gallery (Toronto), Arko Art Gallery (Seoul, South Korea),the University of Waterloo Art Gallery (Waterloo), Art Lab Gallery (London), The Art Gallery of Peterborough (Peterborough), and CONTACT Photography Festival (Toronto).
